instead of just explaining every single song i like individually, ive attached a winamp player with a bunch of songs i like :0 this is far from a conclusive list, though, because putting in my whole playlist would just take up way too much space. (a few of these are other vocal synth software but u get the idea)
i made this winamp theme myself, by the way! its one of my ocs, so maybe dont download it without my permission. <:)
down here is where im going to rant about individual songs/albums i want to talk about ^_^
take you to an alien/leave you on the back of the earth [iyowa]these two songs compliment each other really well and remind me of how frantic and fucked some of iyowas older works are, so im really happy to see a return to that as an Evil Music Enjoyer. i love the parallels between the two, with the pvs matching and the similar musical style between both songs... some of the parallels ive noticed: the framing of the pvs, rising/falling, part-animal characters, the way the lyrics are depicted in boxes, vertical vs horizontal lyrics, cevio vocals, the background disappearing at the end vs the character disappearing at the end. also back of the earth has parts in 5/4 which is my favourite time signature!! i feel like these might be focus tracks for a third album which is super exciting for me (known iyowa stannie) |
films, sunny spots, graduations [iyowa]SO GUESS WHO WAS RIGHT ABOUT THERE BEING A THIRD ALBUM. i am a little late at writing this review but i think this is literally a perfect album. the paired songs across the a-side and b-side are so insane, i lost my shit when i heard midnight fear for the first time, and the remakes of i am taboo and golden number improve dramatically on the originals while still maintaining their original essence. i think this album has a lot of hammer-to-the-skull moments (positive) graduation killed me like just fucking shot me in the back of the head (also positive) and i think its an incredibly worthwhile experience for anyone who has even a passing interest in vocaloid. everybody say thank you iyowa |
